Start of the Season: Rangers Edition

The Rangers are 3-2 in their first 5 games.

The Rangers played on the road against the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks in their season opener and came away with a great win.

Then they went to Columbus to start their home and home series against the Blue Jackets and beat them there 4-2.  Then the Rangers travelled home to New York for their season opener and defeated the Blue Jackets again 5-2. The Rangers were 3-0 and the sensational rookie from Sweden, Oscar Lindberg, had scored in all three games to start the season.

Then came the consecutive losses.

The Rangers outplayed the Jets for most of the game.  Winnipeg was very effective in their scoring chances behind their goalie Hutchinson's 41 saves. The Rangers attacked the net all night but Hutchinson deflected every shot but 1. The final score was 4-1.

In Montreal, the Rangers were shutout 3-0 against the 4-0 Canadiens (6-0 as of this post). Henrik Lundqvist made it close with his goaltending abilities but in the end the Rangers just could not score.

Will this scoring draught continue today against New Jersey?
