Labor Day

Today is Labor Day. For those that wish they were at work instead of being off you can ignore this post. Otherwise, read on for further enlightenment.

There's 168 hours in a week. If you sleep 8 hours per night then there are 112 waking hours in a week. Subtract the number of hours you dedicate to your job and commute. How many hours is left?

In my case that's 57 hours. Depending on how you look at it, it's either a lot or a little.

They say it takes 10,000 hours to master something. If that's true then maybe it's a good idea to find something enjoyable, become an expert at it, and then get paid for it.

Chances are you are already an expert at something but it's not the kind of expertise that people would buy or pay for in particular. Maybe your strengths are in music, painting or the arts.

Perhaps you've already created a masterpiece that world hasn't appreciated it yet. Many prominent artists have died before their creative works became famous and apprecia…
